Description
KIETLA Diabola 0-12 months sunglasses are the most innovative product on the sunglasses market, as they can be worn in two ways. The patented model can be worn one way from 0-6 months and another way from 6-12 months (the glasses adapt to the growing baby’s nose). In addition, they provide protection for baby’s eyes against harmful UV rays with category four, the highest level lenses. The glasses are very lightweight—just 8 grams! The sunglasses have no screws, so there is no risk of small parts falling into babies’ hands. The frame is very flexible, durable, and a single piece. Kietla Diabola sunglasses are very popular and award-winning products (Top Label Conso Baby and Nantes School of Design awards).

Should babies wear sunglasses?
Babies’ and children’s eyes must be especially carefully protected from harmful sun rays on hot, sunny summer days, as their eyes’ protective ability is low: a child’s pupil is wide, the lens is crystal clear, and they tend to look up more than adults. Children are at greater risk of sun-induced eye damage.
Do ordinary dark lenses also protect babies’ eyes?
It is not the dark lens itself but the UV protection that shields eyes from sunlight. Wearing sunglasses with merely dark-tinted lenses and without UV protection is extremely dangerous for the eyes, because the eye’s natural defense mechanisms—squinting and pupil constriction—do not activate with dark lenses. As a result, significantly more UV rays reach the eye than if no sunglasses were worn at all.
