Description
The frame of Kietla sunglasses is very lightweight, flexible, and unbreakable. The Kietla glasses frame is made in one piece and does not contain screws.
If the baby twists the glasses’ arms, there is no risk of screws falling out and ending up in the baby’s mouth.
Since a baby’s eye retina is very sensitive, the glasses have a higher Category 4 protection against harmful sun rays.
The glasses come with an adjustable strap, which can be used to secure the glasses on the head if the baby tries to pull them off. The glasses are packed in a case that can later be used as a pencil case or other holder.
Special features of the sunglasses:
- 100% unbreakable one-piece frame;
- Very lightweight glasses (weighing 8 grams);
- Very flexible screwless temples;
- Maximum Category 4 protection against harmful UVA, UVB, and UVC rays;
- The entire glasses frame is one piece without screws;
- Blue light filter (protects against light from digital devices);
- Highly durable polycarbonate lenses;
- The lenses can be replaced with regular lenses (ask for advice from an optometrist);
- The glasses do not put pressure on the baby’s head or nose.
- CE-certified glasses. French quality.
Usage: Although Kietla glasses are very durable and the frame is unbreakable, they are not toys. Please make sure the child does not rub them against stones or chew on them. In such cases, the lenses may get scratched.
Does a baby need to wear sunglasses?
Babies’ and children’s eyes need special protection against harmful sunlight on hot, sunny summer days because their protection level is low: a child’s eye pupil is wide, the lens is crystal clear, and they tend to look upwards more than adults. Children are at greater risk of eye damage caused by excessive sun exposure.
Do ordinary dark lenses also protect babies’ eyes?
It is not dark lenses that protect the eyes from solar radiation but UV protection. Wearing glasses with simply dark-tinted lenses without UV protection is extremely dangerous because the eye’s natural defense mechanisms, such as squinting and pupil constriction, do not activate with dark lenses. As a result, much more UV radiation enters the eye than if the person were without sunglasses.
